Australia’s largest bank deployed SDI to drive innovation and improve efficiency

For an organization to be agile, it’s not enough to be able to deliver software quickly. The infrastructure that it is based on must also be flexible, otherwise delays in upgrading it could derail app launches.

This is something the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA), which has 19 million customers, understands well. It has used software defined infrastructure (SDI) to:

  • Create a flexible platform for testing and launching its software experiments;
  • Cut per unit operating expenditure (OPEX) by 90 percent; and
  • Cut software deployment times from 2 weeks to 3 hours.
