DuPont’s private cloud implementation is a useful case study for cloud service providers considering their approach to security.
With research areas ranging from nanotechnology and alternative energy to plant genetics, DuPont is taking aim at societal problems such as feeding the planet, providing clean energy and protecting the environment. It needed an efficient mechanism to ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards.
Using cloud management software and 32-core Dell PowerEdge R910 servers equipped with the Intel® Xeon® processor 7500 series, DuPont created policy-driven trusted compute pools, with the necessary geo-fencing. Intel® Trusted Execution Technology (Intel® TXT) was used to ensure the compute pools remained trusted, based on the original configurations across both Linux and Windows environments.
