Driving Cost Efficiencies With Higher Network Bandwidth

As part of its mission to improve service levels for customers at the lowest possible cost, Indian cloud service provider NxtGen upgraded its Network Interface Cards (NICs) in order to optimize price-performance ratio. Alongside the need for higher service levels, the CSP faces accelerating demand for greater bandwidth in its data centers, driven by an increase in data-heavy workloads such as big data, machine learning and artificial intelligence. NxtGen was also keen to mitigate any potential networking bottlenecks in its multitenant environments caused by increasing traffic for the virtual machines on its Intel® Xeon® Scalable processor servers.

The company upgraded its NICs from industry-standard 10GbE to 25GbE Intel® Ethernet Network Adapters XXV710. In combination with its previous investments in Intel Xeon Scalable processor servers and Intel® Solid State Drives, NxtGen can deliver line-rate performance for large application buffers with low CPU usage while being able to allocate CPU resources to multiple tenants.
